The Poetry Bath
with Sian Thomas

The Poetry Bath is an hour of poetry and music to inspire and delight you. In each episode Siân meets a different poet, prose writer or other artist to read the writing they love, to chat about poetry and its sister arts, and to entertain and console one another with tales of the creative life.
Siân is poet in residence for Ashdown Forest and has lived in the Sussex Weald for most of her life. Her pamphlet Ovid’s Echo and collection Ashdown are both published by Paekakariki Press and her work has appeared widely in magazines and anthologies. She also teaches creative writing to adults and in schools both online and in East Sussex and Kent.
She has been a fan of and has written poetry since she first discovered Edward Lear’s The Quangle Wangle’s Hat when she was a child. She loves poetry for its mystery, its storytelling and its music; she loves the way that a poem can allow us to see the world anew, can surprise, comfort, scare or excite us or simply make us laugh.
